Mea'alofa

Alongside the theme of Garden of Memoirs, an exhibition extending quilt making traditional from around the Pacific Rim, where this work was presented as a part of OFFSTAGE 9, Mea'alofa (made from love) uses a mix of measina/taonga both displayed on my vessel and throughout my poetry.

This activation was created from a place of love and specifically for my Moana communities with the aim to spark an interest in indigenous methodologies.

This work included a voice over of poetry, music from traditional instruments sampled from Tyrun Posimani's work Still and traditional Samoan dance.

Mea'alofa allows us to consider and question the healing that we may need as Moana people and how to attain that through indigenous methodologies.
